What is music to you?

There are a lot of reasons people listen to music. Some listen to music because they want to have a good feeling of what the song is saying. Others might be when they are heartbroken. What is the reason you always listen to music?
 
One reason is it helps time pass. It can be a big deal when you wash dishes like I did before.
 
I think music is a good pastime and it can sometimes relax you or make you feel like getting up and start dancing to the music, which is a good way to get some activity for your body throughout the day.
 
I would say to help pass the time as well. Plus the average song is 3 to 5 minutes in length. So I round it to 4 minutes & figure I'd listen to around 7 songs in about a half hour.
