What do you have for vinyls?

I don't have a collection, but I'd love to get into the hobby. In fact, I really like the sound of vinyl and the covers. What do you all like about it?
 
I grew up with records & a record player. I also remember many that had some damage so skipped over parts of some songs. We don’t have one here but my husband does buy records at times. They are mostly classical rock bands in good condition.

A lot of it is the sound impurities when it comes to using analog formats, so people think it adds character, as opposed to the clean “sterile” sound of digital.

Today's Record Store Day, a great occasion to go out and discover new music. But let's not get snobby about vinyl in the process.

This article answers some questions. It says vinyl has a more warm sound and it's not like what's heard in the studio, but that's what vinyl people want, as you said.
